I’ve made a transition from using watercolor pencils to using acrylic paint because the results just tend to be better. Pencils often need several layers which can sometimes dull from too many layers of sealant.
With acrylic paint, you could also get away with much more variation! Tinier brushes allow for softer or finer details.
I really have to watch out for thick paint. The best results are when you add thin, washed out layers even if it takes a few hours to continue work while you wait for the paint to dry.
I loved working on these guys! It was cool to see if it was possible to do two different faces on the same exact face mold.
